You canarrange switches to controllight fixtures from multiple locations using a three-way or four-way switch.

What Is a 3-Way Switch?
Athree-way switchhas three screw terminals on the body of the switch in addition to the green grounding screw.

One screw, known as the common, is a darker color than the others.
The other two screws, usually a lighter brass color, are known as the traveler terminals.
The switch toggle does not have ON or OFF markings.

The circuit is interrupted when the toggles are in opposite positions and the light fixture turns off.
A three-way switch allows either switch to control the on-off function of the light fixture at any time.
It has a black hot wire, a white neutral wire, and a bare copper grounding wire.

execute the Circuit Cable
The circuit cable that links the two switches is a three-wire cable.
The black and red wires are “travelers.”
They connect to the traveler screw terminals on the two switches.

Tip
Wiring configurations can vary significantly depending on the circuit’s arrangement.
However, the traveler wires must always connect to the two switches in all configurations.
If your three-way switch iswired wrongyour light will not work from both locations.
It will only work from one location.
