How did you first discover your space?

What about it appealed to you?

We were looking to move out of our starter home and didnt have a huge budget.

Lately Ive been obsessed with everything Heidi Caillier does.

A lot of my design inspiration comes from visiting historic places.

I recently toured a 1950s mansion turned art gallery in Houston and it left a huge impact on me.

How does your heritage inform your style?

I love bringing patterns, colors, and textiles from Pakistan into my designs.

The veryfirst wallpaper I didin my home reminds me of an Ikat patterna technique common in South Asia.

Any other cultures you take design notes from?

I find myself drawn to European design and prints and anything historic really.

What were the greatest finds in your home?

One of my favorite pieces in my home is the chandelier in ourguest bedroom.

Its a stunning hand-poured glass chandelier with a beaded texture on it.

It reminds me of Mughal jewelry or something ornate from a Pakistani wedding.

The vintage rug in our playroom is also a gorgeous piece that I will cherish forever.

Its durable, and, most importantly, our cats dont scratch it!

Do you have a favorite design feature or room?

I think I spend the most time in the kitchen and living room.

Its anopen-concept areawhere the kitchen, living room, and breakfast nook are all connected.
