How did you first discover your space?
What about it appealed to you?
Kate Rangel
Since our family was growing we started looking for a home with a bit more space.
We found the perfect lot nestled within a cul de sac.
And it had lots of yard space to garden and have some chickens.
Kate Rangel
We now have quails, too.
Describe the surrounding neighborhooddoes your home fit in or stand out?
How would you describe your style and approach to decorating your home?
Kate Rangel
Our home is bold and colorful with a collection of the things we love.
Youll see lots of artas we are big art loversand mementos from our travels.
One of the things I am most intentional about is showcasing Black artists on our walls.
Kate Rangel
I love that our children see images that represent them all over our home.
Of course, theres also lots of color!
Color is innate to us, so its everywhere in our home.
Kate Rangel
My goal is to inspire others to live out loud colorfully!
Who or what are your biggest design inspirations?
Nature never fails to inspire me.
Kate Rangel
Any other cultures you take design notes from?
What were the greatest finds in your home?
Our furniture pieces have been collected over time.
Kate Rangel
We have several pieces that have been around since before we started having children.
We believe in investing in quality pieces that will last for a while.
I also love adding my vintage thrift finds into the mix.
