The quintessential image of memory foam molding to your head sticks because its true.

The material essentially cocoons you in a customized cushion, allowing for a better nights sleep.

Ready for the soft, sturdypillow of your dreams?

This time frame gave us initial observations on comfort, durability, support, and value.

We think this makes it particularly great for hot sleepers.

The pillow is CertiPUR-US and Greenguard Gold certified, which means it meets safety and environmental standards.

We noticed the temperature difference between each side right away.

It felt particularly refreshing for hot sleepers without being shockingly cold.

The pillow was alsoeasy to wash, as the cover can simply be tossed in the laundry machine.

The cushion itself is very soft and the quilted texture makes it all the more comfortable.

We liked that foam could be taken out to adjust the loft of the pillow, as well.

The one potential downside we noticed is the pillow is prone to discoloration.

The white cover easily shows stains.

Despite this, we love the comfort it offers our head and neck.

We liked that the pillow cradled our head while also having a sturdy core.

However, the pillow becomes warmer the longer you lay on it.

So it may not be best for particularly hot sleepers.

It easily molds to your head and neck.

We liked that the pillow was well-crafted, had durable stitching, and had a sturdy zipper and cover.

We also loved that the pillow both lookedandfelt supportive, expertly walking the line between being soft and structured.

The pillow even helped improve our sleep, as we needed fewer middle-of-the-night adjustments for fluffing or rearranging.

While the manufacturer says the pillow has cooling capabilities, we didnt find it particularly cool to the touch.

However, it was still comfortable overall.

We also like that the pillowcase is machine-washable.

This pillow never felt stuffy and held to its promise of cooling even after a month of everyday use.

We think this in part thanks to its shredded gel foam filling.

We also loved the outer covers luxurious and breathable texture, which is soothing to sleep on.

The pillow can be adjusted to your ideal thickness.

There was a slight scent from the pillow when we first opened it.

However, this is standard, especially for CertiPUR-US-certified foam, and we found that it dissipated almost immediately.

This has a pillow-in-a-pillow design, meaning that there is an inner pillow core that you remove fill from.

Depending on how full you leave the core, it can result in a tight fit with the cover.

Overall, the pillow leans soft and lightalmost down-likeunlike most other memory foam pillows.

However, if you leave it fully stuffed, it feels firmer.

We were glad to see that the pillow bounced back to its original shape whether filled or not.

We also liked that the pillow was supportive, alleviating neck and back pain in our testing.

The breathable 100 percent cotton pillow cover was the cherry on top.

It maintained its shape and plushness throughout testing while supporting the head and neck.

In total, The Spruce has tested over 100 bed pillows, both inThe Laband at home.

For this list, we specifically evaluated foam pillows.

We also paid attention to whether the pillows were cooling.

Generally, shredded memory foam stayed cooler and felt more comfortable for hot sleepers.

Many of the pillows were selected for their ability to retain their shape and maintain their softness over time.

We preferred memory foam pillows that had easy-to-adjust fillings because they stayed resilient and were easy to reshape.

We also picked pillows based on their ability to support a full, uninterrupted night of rest.

Who Are Memory Foam Pillows Best For?

On the other hand, stomach sleepers benefit from more compressible materials and a low loft.

Another important consideration is the bang out of mattress you have.

The body tends to sink into a softer mattress, reducing the gap between your head and the mattress.

A firmer mattress creates a larger gap for your neck to fill using a pillow.

A downside of shredded foam, however, is that these pillows can deflate more easily.

Thankfully, you’re able to fluff memory foam the same way youd fluff a down pillow.

This makes them more universal to all sleep positions.

Solid foam pillows can be a great option for stomach sleepers who need a lower incline.

Hot Sleeper?

Back and side sleepers benefit from a medium and high loft, respectively.

These adjustable pillows are also ideal for combination sleepers.

Think About How Lofty You Like Your Pillows

The loft of a pillow refers to its thickness.

Your mattress also plays a role in the necessary height of your pillow.

Foam Firmness and Resiliency Matter, Too

Pillow firmness can also come down to personal preference.

Solid foam is more durable and retains its shape over time.

We noticed that shredded foam pillows tend to deflate with repeated use.

This way you’re able to easily re-fill a pillow if it loses its shape.
