We will update this story soon with our findings.
We were especially impressed with its quiet operation, substantial airflow, and user-friendly operation.
The wall-mounted remote control is one of the standout features of this five-blade model.

Be careful not to lose the remote since it’s the only way to operate the fan.
We especially loved the delayed shutoff of the light.
With three speeds, it kept the area feeling well-ventilated and cool.

We enjoyed how swiftly iteliminated odorsfrom the dining area and gave us a quick chill after a workout.
And it didn’t make any disruptive noise during work-related video calls.
A minor inconvenience we occasionally encountered was that turning off the fan required two presses of the remote.
A hugger-style mount that keeps the fan close to the ceiling and contributes to the fan’s low-profile design.
In our room with low 8-foot ceilings, this fan was a great choice.
It’s the only control method though, since this fan doesn’t include a remote.
On high, we could hear audible wind noise, but the lower speeds were virtually silent.
Five-blade fans tend toward that classic, timeless look while three-blade fans lean into the sleek and modern aesthetic.
Our testing proved that both work equally well, so this comes down to preference.
Its performance, along with the convenience of app functionality, made it one of our top picks.
Unfortunately, the manufacturer doesnt list the cfm rating for this fan.
After six months of testing, we’re still quite pleased with this fan.

The whirring motion of the fan blades captivates babies' attention and provides them with hours of enjoyment.
This saves us the trouble of constantly adjusting the fan’s parameters.
In the summer, theceiling fan blades should rotatecounterclockwise (when viewed from below).

In the winter, they should rotate clockwise.
Dont let the small nature of this fan fool you.
The fan and light are operated via a convenient remote control, but no wall controls exist.
We wish it came with a wall mount for the remote, but thats a minor complaint.
This fan stands out from the pack thanks to its 8-blade design.
It comes in multiple finishes and has reversible blades, giving you more design choices.
This fan moved air exceptionally well during our tests while remaining pretty quiet and not vibrating at all.
Even at the highest setting, it sounds like a small desk fan.
Clever features like a magnetic LED light kit and snap-in blades really simplify installation.
One area where we werent completely satisfied was the LED lighting, which isnt dimmable.
We especially enjoyed it during times of high humidity, when it made our patio much more comfortable.
We could feel its effects across our entire patio even on the lowest setting.

Thanks to its wet-rated construction, it withstood the elements well, too.
Aside from how effective it was at cooling us, we also enjoyed how quiet it was.
The DC motor makes this fan relatively silent; we could barely hear it at maximum speed.
Installing the Minka-Aire Light Wave was simple, but did require a ladder for tall ceilings.PHOTO: The Spruce
We were impressed with the stylish design, impressive airflow, and useful wall controls.
We used each ceiling fan in an appropriately sized room and evaluated based on key characteristics.
Fans with wider blade diameters are capable of moving more air than smaller fans.
Ourbest smartpick is even smaller at 38 inches, although it is quite powerful.
Most fans include one or two downrods in different lengths, usually between 3 and 5 inches.
Ourbest smart pickuses a DC motor, and we were impressed with the reliable and nearly silent operation.
If you have low ceilings, Tan says: Go with a flush mount.
Keep in mind that higher ceilings also call for a larger fan with higher airflow.
Several of our recommendations, including ourbest minimalist designpick, include an angled mount.
