Ill be the first to admit that I cannot resist an IKEA hack.

As a serial hacker, Ive learned that some pieces are better for hacking than others.

These pieces tend to be completely blank canvases that are affordable too.

I’ve included more than one hack per piece to show just how versatile each of these pieces are.

So I decided to hack the Sektion cabinets.

I used the narrowest Sektion base cabinets which I turned on their side.

Finally I topped the cabinets with a couple of MDF sheets covered in marblecontact paper.

Instead Maiju fromMaiju Sawfound the perfect solution by hacking the Sektion cabinets.

She lined up the cabinets in her space and added some plinths for a built-in look.

She opted for the most basic cabinet doors which she enhanced by adding trim to them.

The end result is a unique cabinet offering both open and closed storage.

But it’s the additional details that really elevate this hack.

The arches add so much style and elegance.

She then made up the bookcases and secured them to the wall.

Usingplywood sheets, she cut arches and framed the bookcases with these.

Finally she painted the bookcases in a dark grey color.

She then cut some hardboard to create the arches and glued this to the top half of the cabinet.
