Pruning can be done to keep the plant looking tidy and to encourage bushier growth.

To prune your prayer plant, use a pair of sharp, clean pruning shears or scissors.

Cut off any dead, brown, or yellow leaves at the base.

This can be done any time of the year.

Should I Keep the Flowers or Deadhead Them?

When your prayer plant blooms, it is concentrating its energy on the flowers instead of growing new foliage.

For this reason, it makes the most sense to cut off the flower stalks as they appear.

This lets the plant focus its energy on foliage growth.

The bloom may last up to four months, however, individual flowers last only a few days.
