Heres how it works:

As you’re able to probably guess, theres some wiggle room here.

For bigger tasks, you could give yourself longer breaks after a few consecutive work-windows.

Why Is It Called the Pomodoro Method?

The method really only dates back to the 1990s and was coined by a man named Francesco Cirillo.

Otherwise, I can easily spend the first twenty minutes floundering, unsure of where or how to start.

As soon as I did this, the answer was obvious.

My neck is certainly happier, but my aesthetic is suffering.

The Process

I set my timer for twenty minutes.

But then I also have things that need to be truly filed rather than just stuck in a box.

On my desktop, I pulled off a few additional items I didn’t want.

As I list these items now, they sound small and pretty inconsequential.

As I did this, my timer dinged, notifying me to take my break.

All the stuff I didnt want onmy desk was cleared and declutteredin less than half that.

Best of all, I love that there arent any constraints.

You dont have to do it at a certain time of day or a certain time of year.

There arent any clear rules at all, aside from using your timer to keep you on track.

For me, thats the easiest way to make something a habit.
