Mix the Stucco
Mix the first coat of stucco.
This will create better adhesion between the first and second coats.
Cover the patched area with a piece of plastic and tape while it dries.
If it is not, reapply the plastic and wait until the patch is dry before proceeding.
Once the patch is dry, mist the patch and the edges of the existing stucco.
Use the trowel to apply the second coat of stucco, working from the bottom up.
This layer should be about three-eights of an inch thick.
After applying the second coat, cover the patch with plastic and wait for it to dry.
Use the trowel to apply the final layer, which should sit flush with the surrounding stucco.
If you arepainting the stucco, wait a few days for the patch to dry and cure.
If you’re able to, it’s generally better to re-stucco.
