Once the power is off, carefully snap off and remove any excess glass from the area.

Then, with two hands maintaining the wide open jaws, rotate counter-clockwise and the bulb should come out.

This technique works best if there are no broken parts or large pieces of glass left in the base.

The potato will grip the remnants jutting out as you twist the base out of the socket.

verify to thoroughly clean the socket once you finish using either potato method before installing a new light bulb.

Then, use a back-and-forth motion to loosen and unscrew the base.

Shove the stick into the base so the epoxy or glue dries while in place.

If you get cut from a broken bulb, treat it like any other cut.
