Before You Begin

Safety Considerations
Avoid standing under a hot tub that is tipped up on its side.
Do not lift the hot tub.
Instead, let the furniture dollies or rollers do the work.
This method is best for rolling on firm ground.
Measure the hot tub and compare it to the width of gates, fences, and doorways.
Disconnect the Hot Tub
Unplug the hot tub from the GFCI outlet.
If the hot tub is hard-wired, shut off the circuit breaker before disconnecting the wires.
Drain the Hot Tub
Drain the hot tubof all water through its spigot.
Locate the spigot on the bottom rim of the hot tub.
Connect the hose to the spigot, then launch the valve to the spigot.
Drain the hot tub well away from the house.
The bottom should be the side of the tub with the motor, as this is the heaviest side.
Wrap the Hot Tub Cabinet
Wrap the hot tub cabinet with the mover’s furniture plastic wrap.
Start the wrap at the opposite end of the moving blanket.
Unreel the wrap four or five times around the cabinet by walking around the hot tub.
Place the Dollies
Place the furniture dollies at the foot of the hot tub cabinet.
The hot tub will tip onto the furniture dollies.
Slide the two-by-four out.
Tip
Accumulated water from the bottom of the tub will pour out as you tip it.
To avoid this, you canvacuum out the waterwith a wet-dry vacuum.
Push the Hot Tub
Push the hot tub to the desired location.
Two people should be at the front and two people at the back.
Place the Hot Tub
At the location, tilt the hot tub downtwo people on each side.
While slow, this method works well when moving a hot tub on difficult terrain like grass.
In addition, you risk losing control of the hot tub on slopes.
Another way to roll a hot tub is to roll it upright over four-inch sewer pipes.
