Hanging a sweater is a great way to save space in your dresser or closet.

Choose a Hanger

Choose a hanger for your sweater.

Hang it up on your closet rail and it’ll stay put without stretching out.

Fold the sleeves inwards lengthwise so that they are in a criss-cross shape.

check that that they lay nice and flat and there aren’t any creases.

Start by laying the sweater out face side up on a flat surface and straightening out any creases.

Flatten out any wrinkles again.

Carefully flip it over and the sweater is ready to be hung.

A non-slip velvet hanger is an excellent choice here to verify the sweater doesn’t fall off.

Button up the cardigan and lay it down on a flat surface with the buttons face down.

Begin Folding

Next, grab the left cuff and fold it across the back.

Flatten it out and check that there are no wrinkles.

Loop the right side through the hanger halfway, then hang it up.

Unlike pants, dresses, or skirts, sweaters aren’t long and don’t require much hanging height.
