Dollarweed is aherbaceous plant, also known as “pennywort.”
Some people actually like dollarweed, although others are intent on getting rid of it from their lawns.
Fortunately for those in the latter category, there are several different ways to get rid of dollarweed.

What Is Dollarweed?
It puts out an insignificant purplish-green flower during the summer.

It will also grow in wet soils where other plants won’t.
Growing it in a container prevents it from spreading where you don’t want it to go.
But others consider it weedy precisely due to its tendency to spread out of control.
Indeed, under the right conditions, there is virtually no limit to its spread.
It spreads by seeds, tubers, and rhizomes, in addition to rooting at the nodes.
