The baking soda should be at least one-fourth inch thick.

In a spray bottle, mix one-half cup of hydrogen peroxide and two cups of cool water.

Spray this solution onto the carpet and use a soft-bristled brush to work it into the fibers.

Warning

Hydrogen peroxide is a mild bleaching agent.

It should not be used on a dark-colored carpet without testing it in a hidden area.

It can cause fading.
