Check the wood for signs of mold or mildew.

Scrub the Wood
Spray the underside of the deck with a garden hose before you begin cleaning.
Dip a stiff-bristled brush in the cleaning solution.
Start in one corner and scrub the underside of the deck.

Check for areas that are still soiled and reclean, if needed.
