Cuisinart does not recommend using baking soda to clean or descale coffee makers.
Use a bottle brush to help reach all of the interior surfaces.
Or, fill the carafe with hot water and add a denture-cleaning tablet.

Soak for at least 30 minutes and wash well in warm, soapy water.
Use distilled white vinegar to descale a Cuisinart coffee maker.
Fill the water reservoir with 1/3 distilled white vinegar and 2/3 water.

Press the clean button to complete the cycle.
The clean indicator may not go off after running one cycle.
Remove the filter from its bag and soak it in cold tap water for 15 minutes.

Snap the filter into its holder.
Run cold tap water through the holes in the compartment for 10 seconds and let drain.
Slide the filter holder back into the channel and push it down into the unit’s base.
Wash the grinder of your Cuisinart coffee maker every time you brew coffee.
Never clean the grinder while it is still inside the coffee maker.
A cleaning indicator light will alert you that the coffee maker needs attention.
