Nothing tastes better than clean, cold, filtered water.

In addition to changing the filter, pitchers need to be washed with soap and water.

Check your owners guide for the recommended lifecycle of your Brita pitcher filter.

Tip

Brita pitchers and dispensers should always be hand washed and never placed in the dishwasher.

If its not clear from the filter, look up the instructions in your owners guide.

Discard the filter, and separate the lid and the reservoir.

Do not use any soap or vinegar to clean the filter.

It will damage the filter.

Then, rinse with warm water.

Use a clean toothbrush to easily clean in between small crevices.

Get rid of the built-up limescale and any mildew with a white vinegar and water solution.

Mix about 13 cup of white vinegar with 2/3 cup of water in a small bowl.

Wet your sponge or cloth in the solution and then scrub the inside of the reservoir and lid.

Rinse and Dry

Rinse the lid and reservoir with clean water.

Set aside to air dry or wipe with a clean, dry cloth.

Reassemble the Pitcher

Once all parts are dry, reassemble the pitcher reservoir and lid.

Position the “Fill Lid” feature toward the back of the pitcher.

Prep and Replace the Filter

Blue filter:Insert the new filter into the reservoir.

Press down to ensure a tight seal.

Pour out three pitchers worth of filtered water.

Then, fill up the pitcher and place it in the refrigerator.

White filter:Flush the new filter with cold water for 15 seconds.

Insert the filter into the reservoir.

Press down to ensure a tight seal.

Pour out three pitchers worth of filtered water.

Then, fill up the pitcher and place it in the refrigerator.

Gray filter:Flush the new filter with cold water for 15 seconds.

Insert the filter into the filter cage with the blue ring facing up.

Press on the filter until you hear a click.

Connect the filter cage to the lid, and activate the electronic indicator.

Refill the pitcher and place it in the refrigerator.
