Weve tested over 270 sets of sheets over the past few years for a total of over 27,500 hours.

Thepercale cottontexture felt breezy with a crisp feel and the sheets retained their coolness while lying on them.
We will note these sheets are a bit stiffer than more drapey fabrics, like eucalyptus or bamboo.
With this in mind, you may want to be cautious with what you wear while using them.

However, we still think theyre a stellar option at the price point.
They can fit onto a 17-inch mattress, and we found the fitted sheet stayed in place very well.
Polyester is also a durable fiber thats easy to wash in the case of stains.

These sheets handled washes very well and stains came out with no trace left behind.
They were also durable and did not pill during our abrasion tests with sandpaper.
The texture also felt exceptionally soft to the touch with a smooth hand.
However, there was some excess fabric that bunched up in the middle of the mattress.
Stains were easily removed through a normal wash cycle without causing any pilling or thinning to the sheets.
Although we love how lightweight and breathable these sheets felt, we found them to be thin.
That being said, we think the lower price point and overall performance make them worth consideration.
Fortunately, the fitted sheet still stayed in place when we moved.
Fortunately, the sheets proved highly durable, experiencing no discernible damage when repeatedly rubbed with sandpaper.
Theseorganic sheetsalso washed well and were even softer afterward.
While these proved ideal for the hotter days of summer, we also found they worked in milder temperatures.
These sheets are available in several colors, some of which may not be everyones style.
Fortunately, they are also available in more neutral colors.
The sheets Tencel material left us feeling like our body temperature was lowered while lying under it.
These eucalyptus sheets also did not disappoint in terms of softness, with a notably silky feel to them.
Although linen sheets are naturally thicker, this set proved to be breathable and light enough on hotter days.
Linen sheets have a more substantive feel which means they wont be everyones favorite.
They washed very well and had a silky feeling without being overly slick.
We appreciated the envelope-style pillowcases, which create a more finished look.
These sheets were also 100 percent accurate to the measurements listed for them.
After six months of continual use, these sheets have held up well, with no color fading.
They also still have a great feel.
Their lightweight nature has allowed us to wash a king-sized set with other items without overloading.
Plus, they dont wrinkle in the dryer.
We like that the smooth fabric felt lightweight and draped well.
Additionally, theyre not as slippery as some other bamboo, eucalyptus, and microfiber options weve tested.
Over two months, these sheets have held up very well with no signs of wear.
The texture has changed slightly, having become a bit more fuzzier and losing the initial sheen.
If you have an extra-deep mattress, you may want to consider air-drying these sheets.
Percale sheets are known for their cooling properties, as the crisp weave offers lots of breathability.

The lightweight to medium feel is very comfortable for most sleepers, too.
We found these to be particularly moisture-wicking in both our lab and at-home tests.
While these sheets lean more crisp than soft, we loved the smooth texture of the percale weave.

We think it looks particularly clean on the bed compared to more drapey fabrics such as bamboo or eucalyptus.
That being said, we appreciate that they have gotten softer with each wash.
Despite consistent use, we’ve observed no signs of wear and the sheets look as good as new.
Weve tested 274 sheet sets, and our most recent cooling sheets test included 24 sets.
We washed the fitted and top sheets twice but skipped washing the pillowcases.
We also used this as an opportunity to look at any color fading from washing.
Water that expands quicker demonstrates a sheet that is better at moisture management.
Anything cellulose is cool, she says.
Cellulose generally refers to all natural fibers made from plants, bark, and even leaves.
This category includes classic cotton and the trendier bamboo sheet sets.
Cotton and even polyester can help hot sleepers stay cool under the covers, though.
Moisture absorbency and airflow are also key to helping maintain breathability.
And so its warm, even if its made of cellulose, she says.
With that in mind, you’ll want to look at the thread count of a sheet set carefully.
Higher thread count doesn’t automatically equal higher-quality sheets.
Too high of a thread count can have adverse effects to your sheets durability and your nightly comfort.
We recommend steering clear of thread counts above 400 as these will likely be too dense for hot sleepers.
These are sheets that are designed to fit and stay in place for deeper mattresses.
Deep and extra-deep pockets are usually designed for mattresses that are 16 inches or thicker.
Anything with poly[ester] is easier to care for.
It wrinkles less, it just doesnt shrink as much, she says.
We have included sheet sets made from both materials in our list in case you want a natural fiber.
