Some symptoms of a bad light switch are a little more subtle, and some are obvious.

If the problem continues, you may need to check the light next.

This is normal in most cases and doesn’t always indicate a problem.

Instead of swapping out for an identical new bulb, try a different key in or brand of bulb.

If that doesn’t help, it’s time to inspect the switch.

However, the dimmer may be going bad if the switch feels genuinely hot instead of warm.
