Some fabrics can comingle in the washer and dryer and others should travel with only their own kind.

Here are seven combinations of items that should never be washed together.

Wash them together and your microfiber towels will havehundreds of tiny cotton pillsstuck to the fibers.

They will never be the same again.

Always wash microfiber with other synthetic fibers and cotton with cotton or linen.

A common question is whether sheets and towels can be washed together.

Simply group the sheets and towels bysimilar fabrics and colors, and you could wash both together.

You’ll have the best results if you wash similar-weight fabrics together in the washer.

If you are adventurous, you’re able to wash the item with similar colors.

However, you may still end up with some streaks and spots on slightly lighter-colored clothes.

It doesn’t take long and your clothes will look new much longer.

Cloth diapers should be washed separately from tiny onesies to remove harmful bacteria and sanitize them for reuse.

Excessive amounts of soil can overwhelm the washer’s capacity and allow the dirt to redeposit on fabrics.

Never overcrowd the washer drum so all of the dirt can be easily flushed from the fabrics.
