Meet the Expert

Morgan Graffis is the founder ofVerv Cleaning, a cleaning serviced based in Missouri.

This is why timing is key when it comes tocleaning your fridge.

“This is the best time to clean it because your fridge isn’t full.”

When you let these messes sit, your feet can transport them to other spots in the house.

The next thing you know, your entire home will need a good sweep and mop.

That’s why it’s important to start each day with a clean slate.

Additionally, letting dishes pile up in your sink and sit overnight actually makes your sink dirtier.

Graffis solves this issue in her own home by assigning “catch-all” areas in common areas and bedrooms.

“Catch-alls are just totes or boxes that hold miscellaneous items in a room,” she says.

Luckily, there’s one simple tool to alleviate this pain point: the laundry hamper.

However, Graffis recommends having more than one laundry hamper in your closet.

“If there is too much build-up, it becomes difficult to ever remove.”
